App marketing isn’t that much different to any other marketing, but it is an idea to look at is specifically to make sure that you get the right strategy and promote your app in the best way possible.

Use Social Media

Social media is a must for app promotion; it is a place where you can connect with your audience and either pay for a promotion or promote your app organically. Either way, getting your audience’s attention on social media is vital as it is somewhere they can see a link and go to download the app instantly.

Public Relations

They say there’s no such thing as bad press, but what is bad is no press at all. Media and influencer mentions go a long way in terms of creating buzz and credibility. Try sending out a press release to local and relevant media, or you could host a launch party to celebrate the app and invite the local media and any other publications. You should also try to get some interviews with publications or offer yourself out as an expert when a journalist is looking for comment on something in your industry. You could also try guest blogging to get yourself some more exposure and talk about your app.

Influencer and Celebrity endorsements

Influencers can be extremely valuable when it comes to promoting your app. If you get someone to talk about it on Instagram again, it’s a platform which people are on and can instantly go and download your app. Try offering trials of your app out for free to relevant influencers who have plenty of followers and get them to start talking about it and attract other people to use it. Do make sure the influencer aligns with your app’s target audience.

Word of mouth

If your app is good, then it will sell itself, and people will tell other people about it. Word of mouth is worth its weight in gold. Remember, there are two million apps in that app store, so the competition is tough. It’s not just your marketing that needs to be good, but your actual app.

Finally, your app, like any traditional product launch and spend time putting together a solid app user acquisition strategy. Remember that the quality of app users you attract to your app is more important than the quantity, so make sure that you understand your target audience and speak to them in your communications.
